Hi OAJ Travelers. Thank you for 50 years.

Oh how time flies!  2021 is OAJ Ellis Airport’s 50th Anniversary. Join the celebration and enter the #FabAtFifty Vintage Photo Contest.  (Scroll down to see entry form below.)

There are two ways to win!
Do you have any old photos taken at OAJ from years past?
Do you have a fun travel story to share?

To win with your photo:  Scan and send us your old photo using the form below or tell us your favorite OAJ travel story. Everyone who enters their photo will be entered to win a $150 travel gift card. One winner will be randomly selected the first Monday of each month.

To win with your memory or story:  Enter a fun memory or story that includes the airport in the comments section of a social media post about the contest or enter below.  Everyone who shares their Ellis Airport memory is entered to win a $25 gift card to a local Onslow County business.  One winner will be randomly selected on the first Monday of each month.

Both monthly winners will be announced on OAJ Ellis Airport’s facebook page on the first Monday of each month.

Please share contest social media posts with your family and friends on Facebook and Instagram, we never know who has traveled through OAJ Ellis Airport during the last 50 years.

By entering the contest you agree to the rules and agree to the usage of your photo or story by OAJ Ellis Airport.

We will share photos and stories throughout the contest on social media and may select your photo or story to use in marketing materials and messaging in future marketing.

The History of OAJ

    • Winners are selected in random drawing. You may only win once. All non-winning entries are still eligible for the following month until the end of the contest.


      Winners will be announced on OAJ Ellis Airports Facebook page. Winner will have 30 days to claim their prize, after that the prize is forfeited.


      This release allows OAJ Ellis Airport to use the submitted photo’s and travel stories in future marketing.


      By submitting and checking the box, you agree to the terms of the contest and photo release. OAJ Ellis Airport and their marketing firm may use your name and photo or story as entered here on the form royalty-free and having nonexclusive rights in perpetuity on social media, marketing materials inside the terminal, and in traditional marketing outlets such as TV, radio, billboards or print publications as deemed appropriate.


      If the photo submission contains other people who are recognizable, you are responsible for obtaining permission from these individuals to have their photo used.


      It is assumed they are notified and granted you permission when you submit your entry. OAJ Ellis Airport and the marketing firm for the airport are not responsible and not liable for using the photo or names mentioned in the story/memories shared in comments.


      Photo’s entries are to be submitted here electronically at FlyOAJ.com/VintagePhotoContest and filling out the form.


      Memory/story entries can be submitted either here electronically on the form or in the comments on OAJ Facebook page.

      Photos and stories will be accepted through May 31, 2021.


      Winners will be selected and announced on March 1, April 5, May 3, June 7, 2021.
